SATELLITE IMAGERY
Just as a picture is worth a thousand words, a satellite image can be applied in a thousand different ways. The uses for satellite images evolve and grow everyday. For instance, to monitor and detect changes in a particular location, you could run a series of high resolution images over a period of time and to create base maps of an area, a set of black and white satellite images will help you identify the main features of the area; from natural features such as rivers and forests to man-made features such as roads. Satellite images of varying scales are also particularly useful in aiding visualization, especially for large scale projects.
When it comes to high resolution for your needs, we at DES, offer you a range of options to choose from. DES is the platinum reseller of DigitalGlobe. US based DigitalGlobe, operates a range of commercial satellites – QuickBird, WorldView-1 and WorldView-2. Its fleet of commercial satellites produces a range of accurate, high resolution, and large field-of-view images in panchromatic (black and white) and multi-spectral colours (4-8 colour bands) to suit your project needs, no matter the size of your budget.

For example, image classification and analysis projects, we typically recommend the use of 4-band imagery. For visual analysis and GIS purposes, we typically recommend the use of panchromatic imagery.
