DES is partnering with Global Innovative companies and leading Universities in Asia Pacific to set up a dedicated Research and Development centre in Singapore. This centre will pursue the development of application in the field of remote sensing science and technology, Geographical Information System (GIS) and Building Information Modelling (BIM).

Some of our planned initiatives to support macro level planning, analysis and climate change initiatives are:

1. Model development using Satellite Imagery in mapping Urban Heat Island in partnership with Institute Sultan Iskandar of Urban Habitat & High rise, UTM Malaysia
   
   
2. Model development using Satellite Imagery for Forest Asset Management, Species identification, Biomass calculation and Carbon sequestration
   
   
3. Model Development using Satellite Imagery for Benthic Mapping and Bathymetry
   
   
4. Enterprise Large Format Imagery Serving and Management (in partnership with GRIDA Korea)
   
   
5. Data and technology integration of GIS, BIM and Gaming to support 3D Urban Planning and analysis
